Surface finishing serves different purposes. The list is long: galvanizing, nickel plating, zinc-nickel, zinc-iron, Geomet, Delta Protekt, KTL, burnishing, passivation, phosphating, sealing and many more. Gleitmo 605, Finigard or Torque 'N' Tension are used to reduce the friction value. Chrome plating, anodizing and polishing is often done mainly for optical reasons.
